About This Special Issue
Tool steels are used for the formation of materials. Industrial tools have different working conditions; therefore, different tool steels may be appropriate for each industrial tool. Normally, any increase in hardness or strength occurs at the expense of reduced toughness. However, advanced technologies, methods and processes may be used to produce advanced tool steel by means of increasing toughness, strength and hardness simultaneously.
The Issue of Advanced Tool Steel provides publication of theoretical and experimental studies related to the advanced tool steel. Papers should include scientific and/or engineering factors and report the changes to mechanical behavior.
The aim of Advanced Tool Steel Issue is to promote a greater knowledge and understanding of the attributes and capabilities of all types of modern engineering materials including metals, ceramics and glasses, polymers and elastomers, and composites. The content is relevant to materials researchers, engineers and designers in academia and in industry.
